THE WORD IS OUT!
We told the boys about a week ago. They were more concerned about if they would have to change poopy diapers than anything else, although if I'm sitting on the couch with Kevin he will get freaked out if I'm scratching my skin thinking it's the baby. H wonders if he's seen Alien on some late-night TV LOL!
Last weekend Harry told his parents & sister. I guess he didn't have a good humour about the fact that several friends had a bet going that he was going to let his family find out via the Christmas card. I think he was nervous I was going to "advance send" them a copy of the Christmas card. Now why would he ever think my hormonal self would do anything like that??

CF UPDATE - TAKE TWO
So last Friday H is off at 9:30 am out of the house to run some errands and to stop and get the blood test done. Here's where we are different; I would have made it my FIRST stop... he made it his LAST. So, by time he got to the lab and they discovered he "wasn't in their computer", our ob was closed for the weekend... and we didn't know what to do! (Apparently that lab must only do bloodwork for the doctors in that building -- one of which was the "old" ob I had been "test driving".)
Thankfully H's brain was in overdrive; guess he realized I was ready to do him harm and he called his PCP and asked if they couldn't do the bloodwork. No, they couldn't (figures!) but they did suggest he just take his prescription and go over to the local hospital. Voila! This was the right answer!
So, the bloodwork was to have been sent out to a lab in Connecticut (they said it would go out Monday) and that it would take a week to get back. We go back to see Dr. D for our 4-week follow-up on Friday the 16th, so hopefully he'll have the results back then. (Cross your fingers, please!)

CF TESTING
Just talked to Dr. Drollinger. Sounds like he has my records from Dr. Murray's office now; he says my file resembles a "small phone book" and that there is NOTHING in it that would "flag" me as being CF carrier material. He talked to his "partner" (the guy who delivers when he is not available) Dr. Bannas, who is a high risk doctor & trained as a perinatologist and they both agree the right thing to do is go ahead & test you.
I asked him what the odds were that this was simply a false positive; he said that with all the testing that is being done it is becoming more obvious that there is a higher CF carrier penetration in the population than was originally recognized, but to still find a couple who has paired up is still rather rare. They don't really think there *is* such a thing as a false positive on the CF test, especially not with the many different markers that could create a positive. He said that typical "flags" are women who have had multiple miscarriages; and/or are of Jewish / Eastern European descent. He doesn't think that Ireland counts. (He once again reiterated that he couldn't figure out what the other practice's criteria was for testing me other than the fact that I'm 38 and pregnant. Oh, to be 35 and pregnant!!)
He is writing Hub a scrip to be tested at the same lab (out of Cornerstone / Providence which is the building where Cont Ob/Gyn is in) and is referencing me so that they know exactly why and WHAT they are testing for. His office just called me back & offered that since we don't need the scrip until Friday they could just mail it since their mail hadn't been picked up yet today; I said that would be great. So... you/we can go get this done on Friday.
